Should you give Fire Knight Queelign the Irish of Grace or Occultation in Elden Ring?

(image)

Fire Knight Queelign can be annoying in Elden Ring, as he will invade you a couple of times if you are in the right places, but ultimately, he is a pretty pathetic figure. You will eventually find him in the Shadow Keep, locked away in the prayer room and feeling sorry for himself.

Should you give Fire Knight Queelign the Irish of Grace or Occultation?

You will be able to get different items from Queeling, depending on which Iris you give him. You can choose to either give him the Iris of Grace or the Iris of Occultation, as long as you have them.

Give Queelign the Iris of Grace

Giving Queelign the Iris of Grace will get you the Fire Knight Queelign Spirit Ash. This will summon the Fire Knight Queelign to help you and will cost 123 Focus Points to use. It’s an okay summon, who can put out some DPS if it gets into the right attack pattern.

In-game description: Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell. Use to summon the spirit of Fire Knight Queelign. Attacks immediately after being summoned. Spirit of a knight granted relief by the Iris of Grace. Wields a spear-like greatsword that impales foes upon fire, keeping the taint of impurity away from fair mother Marika. That grace was his salvation, though it was but a fleeting blessing. And having been saved, all that was left to him was to wage war.

Give Queelign the Iris of Occultation

If you give Queelign the Iris of Occultation, you will get Queelign’s Greatsword. This will do 117 Physical damage and 35 Fire damage at base level, and has D scaling with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith, making it a pretty versatile weapon. It requires 14 Strength, 18 Dexterity, and 12 Faith to wield. It comes with the Impaling Thrust skill that performs a strong lunge that can break through shields.

In-game description: Greatsword of the Fire Knight Queelign. A weighty piercing sword with a blade that undulates like fire. Queelign devoted his all to the crusade and remade his greatsword in the shape of the lance wielded by his liege, aspiring to become a second Impaler.

Which one should you get?

This really just boils down to your preferred playstyle. Do you like Greatswords and never use summons? Then it seems like a pretty easy choice to make. I do think that neither of these is actually best in class, with both being outstripped by other options. That said, they are also effective and fun if you are not into min-maxing too much.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 gets a much needed performance patch that also lets you hoard 999 apples

(image)

There were a few points of contention surrounding Dragon’s Dogma 2 when it launched this past March. There were the launch day microtransactions, the infamous Dragonsplague, and the game’s performance, with many players complaining about frequent frame rate drops. After having already addressed that second one, Capcom has now released a patch for the console versions that adds new graphics settings that should allow for a smoother experience.

As detailed on Capcom’s website, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users have the option to set the graphics settings to high or low (PC players could already fiddle with their graphics settings). Choosing the latter will obviously improve the frame rate throughout, but the patch notes add that the frame rates for busier areas, like towns, should see a general improvement regardless. Hopefully, this means players won’t be as tempted to slaughter most of Dragon’s Dogma 2‘s NPCs like they were at launch. Capcom has also promised even more frame rate improvements are planned for future updates.

This isn’t the only important addition included in today’s patch. Inventory management has also been tweaked for the better since you can now sell items and equip armour from the storage menu. Plus, the maximum number of items of one kind you can store has been drastically bumped from 99 to 999. At last, you can hoard all the apples and soft-boiled eggs you want. I’m not sure why you would want that many, but it at least means you don’t have to be so conservative with your item gathering. This is on top of various miscellaneous bug fixes.

First responses from players seem positive. Over on the Dragon’s Dogma 2 subreddit, several fans are pleased with the inventory adjustments, while others celebrate the performance improvements. One PS5 user reports that things are noticeably smoother on the lower setting, saying, “Towns are still a bit sluggish at around 30-40 fps, but trekking the open world I’d say is around 50 fps, even hitting 60 sometimes,” though it’d still dip if there were a lot of enemies on screen. An Xbox player adds that the game can run at a smooth 60 fps with the lower setting, but the bigger city areas “still run like crap.”

The general response on Twitter, however, seems more mixed. A couple of users feel this patch has come too late, especially with it dropping after the release of the Elden Ring DLC, while plenty of others are more eager for new content. So far, Capcom hasn’t said anything about releasing new DLC or expansions for Dragon’s Dogma 2, though it’s not unreasonable to assume Capcom is at least thinking about it. In its last fiscal report, it even listed Dragon’s Dogma as one of the key brands that it wants to capitalise on for future growth.

How to enter the sealed tower obscured by shadow at Belurat in Elden Ring

(image)

After playing through Belurat Castle in Elden Ring, you will come to your first roadblock, a massive tower overgrown by knotted shadow branches and completely closed off from your curious explorations. If you want to get inside, you’ll need to take quite the journey. Needless to say, spoilers ahead.

How to enter the sealed tower obscured by shadow at Belurat

To enter the sealed tower obscured by shadow, you will need to burn away the branches using Messmer’s Kindling. After you deal with the Divine Beast Dancing Lion and climb the steps, this is essentially when the game gives you the main challenge of the story. You need to find out how to remove these shadows to be able to face the final boss.

Make your way to Castle Ensis and clear that out, and when you get out the far side, you can head to the Shadow Keep to face Messmer. Despite being a major player in the trailers, Messmer can actually be a pretty early boss in the DLC. Once he is dealt with and you have his kindling, you can’t just bring it back to where you were and use it. There is a very specific spot in the game that you need to get to, and it involves a couple more bosses and a lot of exploration. You’ll need to take out Romina in the Church of the Bud, and that will give you access to a tree you can burn, spreading the fire and clearing out the tower at Belurat. You can then enter the tower if you wish.

I would suggest a much longer journey, as if you clear the tower too early and go there to explore it, it is highly like you will miss a lot of content and just get your ass kicked. I have what I think is a solid boss order for the game, although I will be refining that after more runs.

  • Divine Beast Dancing Lion (Belurat Tower)
  • Rellana, Twin Moon Knight (Castle Ensis)
  • Putrescent Knight (Stone Coffin Fissure)
  • Golden Hippopotamus (Shadow Keep)
  • Messmer the Impaler (Shadow Keep)
  • Commander Gaius (Shadow Keep)
  • Midra, Lord Of Frenzied Flame (Midra’s Manse in the Abyssal Woods)
  • Metyr, Mother of Fingers (Fingers Ruins of Miyr)
  • Romina, Saint of the Bud (Church of the Bud)
  • Needle Knight Leda (Enir llim)
  • Bayle the Dread (Jagged Peak)
  • Scadutree Avatar (Scudatree Base)
  • The Final Boss

The boss order above is my current route, and you can follow the linked guide to find out a little more about each guide. Now, the Putrescent Knight placement above will likely need to change depending on some NPC quests, but I am busy figuring all that out and will update as needed.

To make a long story short, to get into the tower, you just need to play through the DLC and progress the story however you see fit, but the important parts are the Messmer fight and the Church of the Bud. Make sure you pick up as many Scadutree Blessings as you can on your journey, as they will make your final fight easier.

Best Reclaimer 18 loadout for MW3: Attachments and class setup

(image)

MW3 Season 4 Reloaded introduced the Reclaimer 18 shotgun to the game, which some players may recognize as the classic SPAS-12. If you want to run it in multiplayer, we’ve put together the best Reclaimer 18 loadout, including attachments and perks.

Major patches always add new weapons, and Season 4 Reloaded is no different. Usually, these new weapons immediately dominate the game’s meta, but Sledgehammer has opted not to make the Reclaimer 18 ultra-powerful, with many claiming the gun feels inconsistent.

Still, if you want to try it out, we’ve got the best loadout that you can run.

Best MW3 Reclaimer 18 class: Attachments

  • Barrel: Ironbrand Long Barrel
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
  • Stock: Hinge LAF Light Stock
  • Underbarrel: DR-6 Handstop
  • Rear Grip: Retort 90 Grip Tape

Because the Reclaimer 18 feels inconsistent, I’ve opted for the Ironbrand Long Barrel to increase the weapon’s range, which should help hit enemies at longer distances. The VLK LZR 7MW Laser should also help you hit enemies by improving hip-fire accuracy, while the DR-6 Handstop Underbarrel also helps with accuracy.

The Hinge LAF Light Stock gives a decent boost to your movement speed, which will help you close the distance to enemies you want to eliminate, while the Retort 90 Grip Tape Rear Grip‘s recoil control is very useful in the heat of battle.

Best MW3 Reclaimer 18 perks and equipment

  • Vest: Infantry Vest
  • Gloves: Commando Gloves
  • Boots: Covert Sneakers
  • Gear: Ghost T/V Camo
  • Lethal Grenade: Frag
  • Tactical Grenade: Flash Grenade

As for perks, you’re going to want to get around the map quickly and close distances fast, so the Infantry Vest is a must, as it increases your Tactical Sprint ability and reduces refresh time. Covert Sneakers will also be good to mask your footsteps if you’re sneaking up on someone, while the Commando Gloves will let you reload while sprinting.

The Ghost T/V Camo Gear will keep you off UAVs and Heartbeat Sensors, which is always handy, while Flash Grenades will blind enemies, allowing you to get close without them being able to see you. Finally, I put on a Frag Grenade, but I would place this as personal preference, and really you can run what you want.
